President’s Letter – Dec 2023

Wow!

What a year this has been. Before I go any further, I want to acknowledge anyone in our industry who is hurting or suffering a loss. Our hearts are with you, and we stand behind you as an industry.

This year has been quite the ride; so many highs I don’t even know where to begin. From the start, this journey has been exceptional. I am proud to have been the first President to serve alongside our new CEO, Kevin Pellegrino, for an entire year. Together with our Board of Directors, we’ve facilitated many successes.

Starting with our Lone Star Awards last January, every event has proven to show a return to our pre-Covid status. Even with COVID-19 and all the changes that have occurred over the past three years, this association has remained strong financially and operationally. I want to give a special thanks to the staff for enduring some challenges and rising to the occasion. We’ve raised more money for charities than ever before. We’ve raised more money for PAC than ever before. Even though we were thrown curveball after curveball, we overcame them and remained successful.

We’ve been able to overhaul our financial reporting and make our internal processes more efficient—and our evolution isn’t complete yet! I’ll pass the torch to Bryan Downer in January so he can pick up where I left off and continue moving AATC down the road to more success and hopefully serve our wonderful members for another 50 years!

So, to my Executive Committee, my Board of Directors, every single one of my committee chairs, and the ever-talented AATC staff, thank you for everything. I’ve been proud to serve as your President in 2023, and the future of AATC is looking up.

Take care, my friends.
