June President’s Letter – The Heat is On!

Things are heating up at AATC! As we venture into my 6th month as your AATC President, it’s an excellent opportunity to check the pulse of our association. So far this year, we’ve had one of our largest Lone Star Award Banquets, where we recognized over 100 finalists in our industry. We also raised over $39,000 for Union Gospel Mission of Fort Worth, not to mention our Spring Golf tournament, raising over $34,000 for our AATCPAC. As great as those accomplishments are, we still haven’t finished the busiest part of our year yet! Great things are in store for AATC, and I’m here for it!

None of our incredible feats would be possible without the support of our supplier partners. AATC’s annual income is around $2.2 million per year, and of that amount, $840,000 is from our supplier partners’ investments, such as dues, advertising, sponsorships, and events. That means over one-third of AATC’s revenue comes from our suppliers. So, when we say we appreciate what you do, we really mean it and couldn’t do what we do without you.

We recently celebrated our President’s Club, AATC’s group of suppliers who contributed $10,000 or more in 2022 in AATC non-dues revenue. The amount of money represented by the President’s Club in 2022 by itself was almost $260,000 in 2022. This elite group of 19 suppliers accounts for almost 12% of AATC’s total revenue and 31% of our revenue from our entire pool of over 400 supplier partners. So, hear me loud and clear when I say: We appreciate you!

Our advocacy efforts have paid off! The recent May elections show that our Government Affairs team is on top of it, as all our endorsed candidates won their election races in May. Read more about that here: https://conta.cc/3HMa3ob

Finally, I leave you with a reminder about two major upcoming AATC events. The first event is TAA’s Lease With the Best seminar on June 28th at Hurst Conference Center. If you work with a TAA apartment lease, I recommend you attend this class! Not only as an excellent refresher but also to pick up on new legislation and best practices for this industry. A must-attend for your office staff. Also, AATC Business Exchange returns on August 8th. This year’s event is presented by Perma-Pier Foundation Repair of TX. OM’s, sign up your decision-makers. Suppliers, registration opens on July 1st.

Well, that about sums up my mid-year update. I hope you have a great summer, and I’ll check back with you all in July!
