August 2023 President’s Letter

I hope your summer was filled with pool parties, beach excursions, mountain odysseys, snow cones, ice cream, and Slurpees! As our summer winds to a close, I hope everyone can reflect on all the good times you’ve spent with your family as we enter our fall season.

I’ve been in the business a long time. I can tell you that as schools start up again, it will get a little hectic around here. Still, I hope you can find time to enjoy some networking and fellowship with some of AATC’s upcoming events. Remember, the more you get involved with AATC or any professional association, the more you will get out of it. 15 years ago, I couldn’t have predicted that I would be sitting here as your president were it not for the first time I went to an AATC committee meeting. I started getting involved with AATC in 2010, but my real volunteering efforts started when I was invited to a committee meeting where I met Anita Hord—I haven’t looked back since! Since then, I only look back when I want to reflect on all the great people I’ve met and the good times I’ve had. What an experience! Get involved!

Our fall lineup is nothing short of spectacular, starting August 8th with our AATC Business Exchange presented by Perma Pier Foundation Repair of Texas. This event is considered one of the best networking events of the year, and let me tell you a little secret—it all started here in DFW and has now been adopted as a standard event nationwide!

On September 12th, we’re coming at you with our first-ever AATC Pickleball tournament! If you don’t know what pickleball is, just think of it as a giant ping-pong court. You can either sign up a team of two people for a $400 AATC PAC donation—the team must be one owner-manager and one supplier partner—or you can be a spectator for $50! Either way, you’ll enjoy access to regular and adult beverages, a food buffet, and all the yard games you can imagine. Have you ever played giant Jenga?

On October 3rd, we see the return of our Fall Golf Tournament at Bear Creek Golf Club, presented by Century HVAC—something new for our golf fans. Then mark your calendars for October 19th, where our annual Education Conference and Trade Show—Game On!—makes a huge return, this time at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

Finally, I’m happy to announce that AATC will round out the year with the return of the AATC Christmas Party on December 5th, presented by MFI. Come and help us raise money and toys for the Community Enrichment Center. If you haven’t seen what they do, I encourage you to learn more at their website: https://cechope.org. I think you’ll be as impressed as we are.

I hope you’re as excited as I am for the upcoming fall season at AATC. If you’ve never been to an AATC event, now’s the time to jump in. We welcome everyone with open arms!
