James Hill, Texas Christian University

James Hill, CCIM, is the Director of the Center for Real Estate at Texas Christian University and Principal of James Hill Consulting. At TCU, he leads strategic initiatives that connect academia with the real estate industry, driving growth in student programs, advisory board engagement, and endowment development. As a consultant, Hill advises companies, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals on real estate, corporate finance, and strategy.

A licensed Texas real estate broker and CCIM designee, he is recognized for his clear communication, strategic insight, and negotiation expertise.

Hill also serves on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, elected by member banks to provide public service by contributing economic insights and overseeing governance and audit functions. He is an elected member of the Tarrant Regional Water District Board, where he leads a governance overhaul to improve transparency and efficiency. His leadership experience includes serving as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee at Cendera Bank and holding committee roles in compliance, HR, and risk management. Earlier in his career, Hill managed multimillion-dollar loan portfolios and government affairs as Chairman of the PAC at Texas Capital Bank. He also serves on the boards of BLH Ecology Concepts and Cloudburst International, providing strategic oversight. A graduate of UT Austin and TCU, Hill was appointed by the Governor of Texas to the Housing and Health Services Coordinating Council. He lives in Fort Worth with his wife, Macy, and their two sons.

Mary-Margaret Lemons, Fort Worth Housing Solutions

Mary-Margaret Lemons has served as president of Fort Worth Housing Solutions since December 2017. Lemons is a nationally recognized leader who has guided the evolution of FWHS from a traditional public housing authority to a developer of mixed-income housing opportunities and provider of programs to help residents achieve self-sufficiency.

Today, FWHS operates 52 mixed-income, residential communities in each City Council district, totaling more than 10,000 units with 85% operating at multiple levels of affordability.

Jay Parsons, WayMaker/Madera Residential

Jay Parsons is a respected rental housing economist, consultant, and speaker with extensive experience advising stakeholders in the multifamily and single-family rental sectors, including investors, developers, lenders, and government agencies. He currently serves as a Partner at WayMaker (focused on attainable housing), Principal at Madera Residential, and Economics Advisor to JPI, a top apartment developer.

Formerly the Chief Economist at RealPage, Jay’s insights are widely published and featured in major outlets like The Wall Street JournalBloomberg, and CNBC. He hosts the popular podcast The Rent Roll with Jay Parsons, and was named a 2023 Influencer in Multifamily Real Estate by GlobeSt. Jay is also on the Board of Advisors for Apartment Life, a faith-based nonprofit. He lives in Dallas with his wife and five children and is a University of Maryland graduate.

Moderator: Perry Pillow, FWAA

Perry Pillow is the FWAA Vice President of Government Affairs. A cornerstone of the organization since 1996. Perry is a relentless advocate for the multifamily housing industry, representing FWAA’s interests and championing key policy initiatives across Fort Worth and Tarrant County.

A Fort Worth native with over 30 years of government relations experience, Perry earned his Political Science degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1986, and most recently, he received a Master’s degree in Public Administration in 2010. His career kicked off with a remarkable role as a legislative assistant in the White House during President Ronald Reagan’s administration—a testament to his enduring commitment to public service.

Beyond his professional achievements, Perry has built a vibrant personal life. He and his wife, Debbie, have been married for 35 years and share a close-knit family with three children: Andrew, Marilyn, and Jacquelyn.

The Fort Worth Apartment Association hosts this unique combo event, designed to allow multiple people from your company to attend one of two events on the same day, each with their own unique experience for a more focused audience.

Cancellation must be made in writing and delivered via email no later than April 20th to gregory@livefw.org.  Once the written cancellation is received, an email will be sent with approval. Any cancellation received after April 20th will not be accepted.

Substitutions

You may substitute the registration attendee. Send information to gregory@livefw.org.

Refunds

Refunds will be honored if cancellation is received on or before April 20th. Any cancellation received (time stamped) after April 20th will not be honored.
